Tage Thompson had a very difficult time dealing with injuries. First he went down awkwardly and left the game with a leg injury.

After successfully returning he would again go down this time after blocking a shot with his hand/wrist.

Thompson did not return after this injury. After the game head coach Don Granato gave an update on Thompson and it's terrible news for the Sabres and their fans.

The nice thing for the Sabres is that they do have some good depth at the center ice position. Unfortunately, no one will be able to replace the offensive ceiling that Thompson has.
The Sabres will likely make a roster move in the coming days to fill Thompson's roster spot as they likely put him on Injured Reserve.
