Photos Leak of the New York Rangers' New Alternate Jerseys and Fans are Freaking Out
Rumors that the Rangers would be adding a 3rd alternate jersey this season first cropped up over the summer. It seems as though some of those rumors had some validity as a recent leak has been making its rounds on the internet.
New Rangers Jersey Leaks
The images first appeared when X user @MadHatter_Omaha posted these pictures on their account.
The traditional word mark logo has been replaced by the old shield style logo, which the team wore briefly in the 70s. The regular blue has been shifted to a very dark navy blue and the collar featured the team's nickname, blueshirts, in capital letters. The tag appears to say "NYR THIRD" indicating that this is an official piece of merchandise.
The Rangers last wore the shield logo in the 1977-78 season when the team ended its rebrand, reverting back to the traditional diagonal word mark. We will have to wait and see when the organization officially announces the new sweaters, but given the recent leak, the team will likely want to get un front of additional leaks by making an official announcement soon.
