It was just announced that 38-year-old defenseman Alex Goligoski has been placed on the LTIR following a lower-body injury.

I believe the recovery time for Goligoski's injury is anywhere from 6-10 weeks, depending how things heal. Wild announced this afternoon that he's been placed on LTIR. He's been in a walking boot.

Goligoski blocked a shot with his foot early into the season and will now be sidelined for at least a month and probably longer. Throughout his 1,044-game career, Goligoski has scored 87 goals and 465 points. He has played with the Penguins, Stars, Coyotes, and now Wild.
At 38 years old, this injury could be a catalyst into career retirement.
