The WHL has made an official statement regarding Alex Edwards and has decided to suspend him for 25 games. The lengthy suspension comes as a result of a gruesome hit from behind on Everett Silvertips defenceman Dexter Whittle.

The Victoria Royals have issued a statement in response to the suspension in full support of the punishment. They also state their hope for a full recovery for Whittle.

The Western Hockey League announced today the suspension of Alex Edwards for 25 games for a check from behind and match penalty, which took place on September 23rd against the Everett Silvertips.
