The Colorado Avalanche had a relatively quiet summer in 2023, but one of their biggest acquisitions in
Jonathan Drouin is reportedly making a huge impact already.
A stacked top line
According to a report from the early parts of camp, Drouin already finds himself on the Avalanche top line alongside
Nathan MacKinnon and
Mikko Rantanen.
Between those two a year ago they tallied 216 points, and with inconsistent partners since the departure of
Andre Burakovsky, Drouin has a chance to do something special in 2023-24.
Already, we have a Drouin-MacKinnon-Rantanen line. This could be scary if Drouin can find his touch again!
A big-time reunion
This will be the first time that Drouin plays alongside MacKinnon since their time in juniors together, and now, after a disappointing 2022-23 campaign, they'll have a big role to play for the Avalanche's Stanley Cup hopes.
As for Drouin, he played in just 58 games a year ago, tallying 2 goals and 29 points with Montreal, but now, he finds himself on a big time contender, and if he can find his footing alongside the two stars, this could be one of the best lines in all of hockey.
