Colorado Avalanche Star Player Will Miss the Entire 2023-24 Regular Season

Gabriel Landeskog is set to miss the entire regular season this year due to lingering knee injury issues. He hasn't played in the NHL since the 2022 playoffs and is doubtful to return at any time before the 2024 playoffs.

He was a key member of the Avalanche team that won the Stanley Cup in 2022, scoring 22 points in 20 playoff games.

Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic caught up with Avalanche general manager Chris McFarland in a recent article. They talked about whether when Landeskog will be able to return to NHL action.

"There's still so much that needs to be gleaned in this so it's hard to put a timeline on it.» McFarland continued, "He's going to miss the regular season, and then I wouldn't bet against Gabriel Landeskog in anything. If there's somebody that's going to deal with what he's dealing with, with the right attitude and determination, it's him. He's our Viking.»

The last time Landeskog played in the regular season was in 2021-22, when he scored 30 goals and 59 points in 51 games. He is entering the third year of the eight-year deal he signed with the Avalanche which pays him $7 million annually.
