Mailloux's Fate Confirmed
Insider Eric Engles just dropped some massive news regarding the future of Logan Maillpoux, heard straight from Canadiens VP Jeff Gorton.
Jeff Gorton says
Logan Mailloux should be clear to play if he makes the NHL. He'll still have to be officially cleared by Gary Bettman if he makes it. Gorton says it basically should be a formality based on a prior meeting with the league.
This is major as nobody knew if Mailloux would be able to play but now that Gorton has said that its all but official, we can now keep our eye out on when Gary Bettman makes his official verdict.
However, it should be noted that there is still a chance that Bettman rejects Mailloux from the NHL and would force the Canadiens to keep him in the AHL.
