Philadelphia's Next Big Signing Has Leaked
The first stretch of Daniel Briere's tenure as the Flyers' GM has seen a lot of action. Now, with his first offseason and draft behind him, he's ready to make some big changes to rebuild the Flyers.
Briere's Next Move Known
It looks like Briere may be looking to get a defenseman, according to a new report.
It's none other than Ethan Bear.
The defenseman had a rocky start in the NHL. Injuries got in the way of his success and his goal of becoming a top-four defenseman. He'll likely miss the start of the season, still recovering from an injury from last season. However, he could make an impact in Philadelphia when he's healthy.
A top-four Defenseman?
He'd be a great addition to the Flyers' blue line, don't have any doubt about it. But there'll be some competition.
Bear would need to show he's better than many players if he wants to make the lineup. Cam York, Travis Sanheim, Marc Staal, Victor Mete, Emil Andrae, Sean Walker, Rasmus Ristolainen, Helge Grans, and Nick Seeler are all looking for a full-time job with the team.
Considering he hasn't played in a while and will come into the season without participating in the training camp, it's possible that he needs time to find his rhythm when he comes back, but the Flyers likely won't care, as they aren't looking to reach the top of the League's standings.
