Jay O'Brien has signed his first professional deal with a surprising team.

It was just announced by the Toronto Marlies that they have landed 2018 19th overall pick Jay O'Brien.

O'Brien is coming off his senior season in the NCAA where he scored 32 points in 39 games impressing many.
He will now look to refine his game with Toronto's top facilities and will hopefully earn an NHL contract once this one-year contract is up. O'Brien could have earned an NHL contract somewhere but it is clear that he has chosen Toronto to be his home.
