The Chicago Blackhawks have been one of the NHL's best franchise's, serving as one of the original six teams when the NHL began, but now, they've announced some tragic news.
Blackhawks Owner gone at 70
Rocky Wirtz has served as the Owner and Chairman of the Blackhawks since his father passed away back in 2007, and on Tuesday, it was announced that he had passed at the age of 70 due to illness.

A complicated tenure
On the ice, Wirtz' tenure as the Chairman in Chicago was massively successful, with the core of Duncan Keith, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews leading the team to their 4th, 5th and sixth Stanley Cup wins in franchise history.
Off the ice however, the team underwent plenty of drama and scrutiny during that time, with the Kyle Beach incident putting a permanent black mark on this team for some fans.
Ultimately however, it's sad to see anyone, especially of this stature passing away, so we will take this time to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Rocky Wirtz.
Rest in Peace.
Do you think the Blackhawks will win a Stanley Cup with Connor Bedard?
