The Oilers are heading into a season with real expectations, and every roster spot around the top two lines gets scrutinized.

For now, Savoie's cap hit sits at $886,667, a manageable number for a player Edmonton clearly still wants developing in the lineup.
The real update will come once he starts skating again, not from anything said at a podium in September.
