Patrick Kane's Agent Reveals When He'll Sign With a New Team

Kane's Agent has revealed when his client plans on signing with a new team.

Kane Set To Sign During The Season

Patrick Kane is coming off of a disappointing run with the Rangers which saw them bounced in the first round of the 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs. Kane proved himself to be efficient scoring 6 points in the Rangers' 7-game series loss to the Devils.

Kane's agent, Pat Brisson, knows his client has garnered league-wide attention for what he could potentially bring to any NHL franchise in the playoffs. Knowing this, he spoke on when Kane will sign his next contract.

"This is one I'm very comfortable with. I'm very calm. You could offer me a one-year deal or a two-year deal right now at $7 million or so. I don't even know if I want to entertain it, because it's not what he needs. We'll see, at the right time, how he feels, where he's at, and then we'll take it from there."

"There's going to be plenty of teams doing good, plenty of teams doing bad. "There are going to be teams using [long-term injured reserve]. We'll pick where we want to go. I don't think too many teams will turn him down."

It Will Be Kane's Choice

With Kane being an unrestricted free agent, he can choose wherever he wants to go. However, he is at a stage in his career where he can prioritize winning over money.

Kane will likely pick a team that will fit his criteria for being a contender. There is no doubt that Kane will leave millions on the table to get what he feels is the best chance at a 4th Stanley Cup.

Teams like Arizona or Anaheim could comfortably offer Kane well above market value but it is clear he wants to get a feel for where the NHL season is going before he makes any big decisions.
