Maple Leafs prospect Matthew Hlacar has been suspended by the OHL after a high-sticking play with the Brantford Bulldogs.
The officials originally called a five-minute major, then reduced it to a two-minute minor after review.
Madhouse on Market, a Bulldogs fan account, noted that no replay was ever shown in the building.
JrInsider didn't hold back. "This is a dangerous and dirty play. End of story," the account posted.
The same post said Hlacar "has a bad reputation in this league for doing dirty things."
The Maple Leafs took him 217th overall in 2025.

Through his first three games with Brantford this season, he has a goal, an assist, nine penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating.
Last season with Kitchener, he racked up 91 penalty minutes in 51 games.
His first OHL season in 2024-25 brought 62 penalty minutes in 43 games, and he added 38 more across 14 playoff games that spring.
Across three OHL seasons, that adds up to 162 penalty minutes in 97 games.
The offense has been thinner. He managed 12 points in 2025-26.
All told, he has dressed for 29 OHL playoff games with Kitchener.
The reduction to a minor doesn't erase the problem. When a play looks bad enough to draw a major and a suspension, a seventh-round pick can't afford that reputation.
Reputation in junior hockey works like a credit score. Every bad night gets logged, and eventually the league stops giving you the benefit of the doubt.
The Binbrook, Ontario, native stands 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, and he turned 20 in May.
Before the OHL, he scored 16 goals in 48 games for the St. Catharines Falcons in 2023-24.
Jim Hiller's Maple Leafs host Montreal on Tuesday to open their NHL season.
Hlacar won't be on anyone's radar at that game. But the Leafs' development staff will be watching closely when he returns to the Brantford lineup.
