The legendary coach enjoyed 19 NHL seasons behind the benches of five different NHL clubs, the most recent being the Philadelphia Flyers. His last appearance in the NHL was during the 2021-22 season when he was fired by the Flyers halfway through the season.
Despite his 722 wins and two Stanley Cup Finals appearances, Vigneault never got to raise Lord Stanley above his head.
Fans of many different teams on Twitter were quick to wish him a happy retirement.
Vigneault will go down as one of the all-time greats in NHL coaching and for good reason. Happy retirement, AV!
