Karlsson's Days in San Jose Seem to be Numbered After Major Information Surfaces
Erik Karlsson was a completely rejuvenated player this season, returning to a form we haven't seen since his days as the captain of the Ottawa Senators. His sudden uptick in production has made him a valuable asset on the trade market, and it seems like Karlsson would like to take full advantage of that fact.
Karlsson Wants a Trade
Luke Fox of Sportsnet dropped a massive revelation today, revealing that Karlsson has requested a trade out of San Jose.
It sounds like Karlsson would like a deal to get done as soon as possible, but doesn't have a set timeframe for a trade right now.
Fox added that Karlsson would like to be traded to whatever city gives him the best shot at winning a Stanley Cup, hinting that Karlsson may view his days in the league as numbered.
Karlsson Knows His Worth
Karlsson dropped a very interesting quote following the news of his trade request today.
"I'm the best when you need to be the best. But if I don't have the chance to get to the place where you need to play the big games, then I might as well not do it. I could go through 82 games a year and be good, but I want to play when matters." - Erik Karlsson
It seems like the veteran blueliner knows his worth in the NHL, and hasn't agreed with his deployment in San Jose.
