One of the greatest undrafted players of all time, Mark Giordano has been in the league for close to two decades.

Having been the captain of two teams, and having won a Norris trophy as the league's best defenseman, Giordano has a truly incredible resume. With that in mind, he is reportedly contemplating retirement.

Giordano May Retire in the Off-Season

Despite having one year left on the bargain contract he signed with his hometown Maple Leafs, it is no secret that Mark Giordano, the oldest active skater in the league, is regressing.

The former captain of the Calgary Flames, and briefly of the Seattle Kraken will leave behind a legacy of perseverance, going undrafted in the NHL and fighting his way to the top, with some individual hardware to boot.

He never won a Stanley Cup, but his career cannot be defined by that.

If he chooses to leave the NHL behind this summer, he'll almost certainly have his number in the rafters at the Calgary Flames' new arena, and he will quite possibly have his name called for the Hall of Fame in a few years.

Hats off to a modern legend!
