Brad Treliving is just days into his new role as the Maple Leafs general manager, yet we already know what his ask would be in a massive deal that would send
William Nylander packing his bags out of Toronto.
Seider For Nylander?
According to a recent report, the Maple Leafs would ask for Calder Trophy-winning defenseman
Moritz Seider from Detroit in a
William Nylander trade. If you're shocked by this news, don't worry, you're not alone.
"It is believed that
William Nylander is the most likely of the Leafs to be traded and Khan reports if the Red Wings want him, the Leafs will be asking for
Moritz Seider"
This really comes down to how much Detroit needs offense, and how they see their blueline shaping up in the next few years. Still, we can't see a world where Steve Yzerman is willing to part ways with arguably his best draft pick as GM of the Red Wings.
Treliving Isn't Afraid to Swing Big
We all know that Brad Treliving isn't afraid to swap stars with other teams. His most infamous trade saw
Matthew Tkachuk go to Florida in exchange for
Jonathan Huberdeau,
Mackenzie Weegar, a first-round pick, and a prospect. That's arguably one of the biggest trades since the turn of the century, and Treliving didn't even flinch.
If the Leafs do end up trading any of their superstars, look for them to be adding just as much talent back in return.
