To say that it wasn't a good regular season for Milan Lucic would be an understatement, given that the Flames failed to make the playoffs. However, this turned out to be a blessing for Lucic, who got to represent his country at the World Hockey Championships.

Lucic and his fellow Canadians won gold, and it appears to have rejuvenated him heading into the upcoming NHL free agency.

A Silver Lining: Lucic Helps Team Canada Secure Gold

With the conclusion of the World Hockey Championships, Lucic is on the cusp of becoming an unrestricted free agent. Lucic spoke about where he'd love to play, possibly for his final run in the NHL.

Speaking with Donnie & Dhali on CHEK, Lucic expressed his affection for his hometown. He suggested that he would relish the opportunity to play for the Vancouver Canucks.

Regarding the prospect of becoming a UFA on July 1st and expressing interest in the Canucks, Lucic revealed, "It's every hometown boy's dream to play for the hometown team. We'll see what happens if they call."

Although Lucic would want to play in Vancouver, we're not sure how the Canucks feel as they seem to be aiming to become a younger team. However, they can't deny the experience Lucic could bring.
