While the playoffs are still going, the first trade of the off-season has gone through.
Rangers Trade Grubbe
The New York Rangers selected Jayden Grubbe in the third round in 2021. The 6'3" right-shot centreman hasn't quite lived up to expectations in juniors, and the Rangers opted to cut their losses and fetch a fifth round pick for him.
The #oilers acquire the rights to prospect Jayden Grubbe from #NYR in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round pick.
Grubbe was drafted 65th overall out of WHL Red Deer two years ago.

This is a very low risk trade for both sides, as Grubbe is unlikely to become anything more than a fringe bottom-sixer, and the fifth round pick has just about the same chance.
