Matthew Tkachuk is the ultimate playoff player. He plays aggressively, he can score goals, and has a gift for disturbing his opponents by getting in their head. In the last game against the Bruins, it seems Tkachuk was delivering hits and insults to his rivals on every shift.

Unfortunately, one sequence in particular from yesterday's game makes him look bad.

Tkachuk Violently Cross-Checks Hathaway

After the first period, as players were in a small scrum behind the net, Tkachuk came in fast to deliver a strong cross-check right in the ribs of Garnet Hathaway.

Hathaway collapsed, lost his breath, and took some time to get back on his skates. As for Tkachuk, he received a two-minute penalty.

This kind of play is completely unnecessary and dangerous. Many Bruins fans are angry at Tkachuk, as it's not the first time he has done something like this without any real consequences.

The NHL Department of Player Safety will likely decide to act on the matter, and the Panthers could be forced to play game 5 without their best forward.

More details will follow.

As reported on Blade of Steel - Tkachuk could face suspension after dirty cross check after period ends
