After 10 years at the helm of the Calgary Flames, Brad Treliving is out of work. The Flames have announced that the team and Treliving have mutually agreed to part ways. In the meantime, Don Maloney, who was Vice-president of Hockey Operations for the Flames, has been promoted to President, as well as interim General Manager.
Treliving failed to get the team past the second round of the playoffs during his time in Calgary. You have to wonder if the Matthew Tkachuk trade was a deciding factor in the team letting him walk. At the beginning of the season, there was talk that he would get an extension as GM. That obviously didn't work put. Tkachuk has gone on to have great success in Florida, while the key return price, Johnathan Huberdeau, has fizzled for the Flames.
