In today's NHL respect is one of those things that is far less common than it used to be. Players of today will often take any opportunity possible to give themselves a distinct advantage over others. The lack of respect also sometimes leads to questionable hits that leave players in dangerous positions.

However, on Saturday, Mark Giordano one of the oldest players in the league took the opportunity to show off his respect for the game. After a collision with Montreal Canadiens' captain Nick Suzuki, Giordano was left holding Suzuki's stick. As both players rise to their feet, instead of discarding the stick, Gio gives the stick directly back to Suzuki.

In a league where this is far less common, it's great to see players like Giordano leading by example. Instead of giving himself a clear advantage he did the right thing. You have to love players like Giordano keeping things classy like this.
