Last night, The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins were locked in a battle that would need OT to solve it.
Bruins' long time play by play announcer Jack Edwards, who is known a homer among fans for his bias towards Boston made an outlandish claim, take a look:
-
The Bruins announce team was talking about the previous instigator penalty they were serving as AJ Greer jumped Sam Lafferty after a clean hit to start a fight with Edwards lamenting 'well, it is Toronto' .
One, if a player hits an opponent and it's clean and a third man jumps In to defend said teammate, it's an instigator no matter the circumstance and two, he must not realize Toronto doesn't get many power plays a as team.
Like I said above, Edwards is the ultimate homer and for that, I guess he does his job well, but if the league were trying to help the Leafs in any way, one would think go a lot farther every year than they actually do.
I get that it's his job to say outlandish things on the mic during games sometimes, but implying the league is fixed in favour of Toronto is laughably false.
Is Jack Edwards right?
