Another game and another horrible call, or in this case non-call by the NHL. Jordan Martinook of the Carolina Hurricanes left Tuesday's game against Winnipeg after a hit that should have been a penalty. Not only that, but following the hit and non-call, the Jets scored on the play while Martinook was laying on the ice. Here's the video:

It's hard to figure out why play wasn't stopped here. It seems to be a clear case of a knee-on-knee hit. And, whether intentional or not, it should have been called. Amazingly, Martinook returned to the game despite the brutal hit and pain he was in. He's certainly a warrior. Meanwhile, the NHL really needs to get its act together when it comes to botching calls.

Should a penalty have been called on this play?
