The one item of clothing Patrik Laine never wears and swears he never will

At this point in his hockey career, Patrik Laine of the Columbus Blue Jackets is known as much for his style and flair when it comes to clothing than he is for his ability on the ice. Laine loves to wear suits with unique cuts and patterns that sometimes border on the outlandish. That said, even when they do, he owns it and looks like a million bucks. However, there is one item of clothing that is worn by millions of people around the world everyday that Laine states he's not at all interested in ever putting on.

In a recent interview with Columbus Monthly ,Laine says he cant stand wearing jeans.

"It's more about being relaxed off the ice," Laine explains. "I never wear jeans; I just don't think they're comfortable at all. Why wear jeans at home when I can wear shorts or sweatpants or underwear?"

While still a staple of fashion for many, denim definitely isn't as popular as it used to be, especially with the current under-30 crowd. Shorts and other types of pants seem to have pushed jeans out of the way, while people opt for clothing that is more comfortable.

As for where Laine finds his much talked-about suits, he says he does a lot of his clothes shopping online.

"I go through the internet and if I like something, I buy it," Laine says. "I browse all over the place; it doesn't matter which brand. If I have some type of suit, then I'll find some shirts or accessories or shoes that might go with it. If I find a pair of nice shoes, then I might [have a suit made] for it. I'm open to wearing any colors. The more colorful, the better."
