Prior to the game, Tortorella met with the media, who asked him about his time with the Canucks. Tortorella mentions that he loved the city and the fans, but that the media in Vancouver were 'idiots'.
A reporter then asked Tortorella if it was just the media that were 'idiots' and he went on to say:
Tortorella only lasted one year in Vancouver, guiding them to a 36-35-11 record during the 2013-14 season, where they finished fifth in the Pacific Division. Just after the conclusion of the season, Tortorella was fired.
#Flyers coach John Tortorella asked pre-game about his time as the #Canucks bench boss...Talked about how him and his wife loved it in Vancouver & how the fans were fantastic...
But took a jab at local media, calling them 'idiots' #NHL pic.twitter.com/0zAVkLq4xd— Harnarayan | IceSingh (@IceSinghHNIC) February 18, 2023
