The buzz around the NHL's trade deadline has been non-stop over the past few weeks with all eyes on the biggest names.

Chicago Blackhawks veteran Patrick Kane is front and center of trade rumors, and with the New York Rangers' acquisition of Vladimir Tarasenko, Kane's list of potential landing spots has shrunk down to the final few. One analyst reports that said list has only one team left on it...

TSN Analyst and retired NHL defenseman Carlo Coliacovo reports that Kane's list consists only of the Toronto Maple Leafs now that the Rangers are presumably out of the running.

Toronto media naming the Leafs as a possible landing spot for a huge name at the deadline...

Coliacovo's report is a long, long, long shot. Obviously.

That said, Kane would only accept a trade to a contending team, and there are only so many of them. GM Kyle Dubas has proven capable of maneuvering the NHL's salary cap gracefully, and there are loads of teams out there who could broker a deal to retain a piece of Kane's salary for the remainder of this season. Of course, for a price.

Still, can you really envision Patrick Kane as a Toronto Maple Leaf?
