Coyotes trying hard to keep Taylor Hall from hitting FA market
There's word that the Arizona Coyotes are back to negotiating with former Hart Trophy winner Taylor Hall. The 28-year-old former first overall pick is slated to hit free agency in November and will be the hottest commodity on the market if the Coyotes are unable to get him to sign on the dotted line.
Since the NHL suspended play on March 12th, little has been said regarding any negotiations between the team and Hall. However, The Athletics's Craig Custance says talks have re-engaged and it sounds like newly appointed Coyotes CEO Xavier Gutierrez is now running point for the team rather than general manager John Chayka.
Hall managed 16 goals and 36 assists for 52 points in 65 games this season. He was on the final year of a seven year deal paying him $6 million per year when he was picked up by Arizona back in December from New Jersey in exchange for Kevin Bahl, Nick Merkley, Nate Schnarr, a conditional first-round pick in 2020 and a conditional third-round pick in 2021.
In 627 career NHL games, Hall has 218 goals and 563 points.
