The St. Louis Blues have signed defenceman Scott Perunovich to a two-year, entry-level contract, the team announced on Monday.

Perunovich, 21, won the NCHC Scoring Champion Award, and was recently named the winner of the Hobey Baker Award, which is given annually to the top college hockey player. It was an outstanding season for the young stud defenceman, who put up six goals and 40 points in just 34 games for the University of Minnesota-Duluth. In a combined 115 games over three seasons, he scored 20 goals and 105 points.

Perunovich was drafted by the Blues in the second round (45th overall) at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The Hibbing, Minnesota native is one of the best prospects in the Blues system, and has a chance to see some NHL action in the 2020-21 season.
