On Tuesday, TSN insider, Bob McKenzie discussed the NHL's Return to Play Schedule.

“The plan is to play three games a day both in Edmonton and Toronto and the timetable template in local times is to schedule those games at noon, 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.” McKenzie reported to Gino Reda.

Due to the time difference between Edmonton and Toronto, there will essentially be six games played per day spread out over a window of around 15 hours.

“And I know you're going to ask me well what happens if there's multi multi-overtime games because it's the Stanley Cup Playoffs and it's unlimited overtime. My answer to that would be that's hockey. That's the way it goes.”

Players will have the option to out of the Return to Play, but McKenzie explained that the NHL can also determine that certain players should not return. These would be players that they have deemed “unfit to play” due to “higher risk and that they could get extremely ill if they were to contract the coronavirus,” McKenzie said.

Players who fall under this category will meet with infectious disease experts and team doctors hired by the NHL. The doctor will need to sign off in order for them to be eligible to play.
