After a couple days of inactivity on the waiver wire, Tuesday saw a couple of placements by the Buffalo Sabres and Vegas Golden Knights.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, Buffalo Sabres defenceman Casey Fitzgerald and Vegas Golden Knights forward Jake Leschyshyn have been placed on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to the AHL.
Fitzgerald, 25, was a third-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. After four years at Boston College in the NCAA, he signed his entry-level contract with Buffalo in the spring of 2019. In 23 games this season, the North Reading (Massachusetts) native has three assists, four penalty minutes and is a minus-one.
Leschyshyn, 23, was apart of Vegas' inaugural draft class in 2017, being selected in the second round, 62nd overall. In 22 games for the Golden Knights this season, the Raleigh (North Carolina) native hasn't recorded any points, has eight penalty minutes and is a minus-seven.
