David Pastrnak honouring Red Sox legend, Fenway Park with stick and skates for Winter Classic
The Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins are set to face-off at the legendary Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, on Monday afternoon in the 2023 NHL Winter Classic.
This year's game marks the second time that the NHL has held a game at Fenway Park, as it hosted the third-ever Winter Classic in 2010, where fans saw the Bruins defeat the Flyers in overtime.
On Sunday, Bruins star forward David Pastrnak revealed a stick, as well as a pair of skates, he will be using for the game on Monday and the features of both honour Fenway Park and Red Sox legend David Ortiz, a.k.a 'Big Papi'.
Pastrnak's stick is green, to symbolize the 'Green Monster' in left field at Fenway. It also has the scoreboard featured on the 'Green Monster', a baseball, Pastrnak's own logo, as well as David Ortiz's personal logo.
On the skates, Pastrnak is also paying homage to the 'Green Monster' and its scoreboard, as well as David Ortiz's logo.
Check them out in the video below and don't forget to tune into the 2023 NHL Winter Classic. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. ET on Monday and can be viewed on Sportsnet in Canada and TNT in the United States.
