During Saturday's '32 Thoughts' segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet's Jeff Marek was discussing where the NHLers participating in the World Juniors will end up after the tournament is over.

Marek went on to say that with the logjam on defence with the Kings and their continued pursuit of Jakob Chychrun, rookie Brandt Clarke will likely be returning to the OHL's Barrie Colts.

"Brandt Clarke of the Los Angeles Kings. There's a lot of defenceman on that LA blue line. Elliotte's talked about Jakob Chychrun before and LA is pursuing him. Speculation is that he goes back to OHL Barrie."

Getting Clarke back, who captained the team last season, will be a massive boost for the Barrie Colts. Barrie currently sits third in the Eastern Conference, nine points back of North Bay for first in the division and second in the conference, while they also are 11 points back of Ottawa for first in the East.

In nine games for the Kings this season, the 2021 eighth overall pick has two assists, six penalty minutes and is a minus-one. Meanwhile during his conditioning stint in the AHL, he put up two points (one goal, one assist) in five games.
