Stars sign veteran forward Joe Pavelski to contract extension
The Dallas Stars announced on Sunday that they've agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension worth $3.5 million (plus $2 million in performance bonuses) with veteran forward Joe Pavelski.
Pavelski, 38, was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, but because he was on a one-year contract for the 2022-23 season, he was eligible to sign an extension starting today.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue being a member of the Stars organization," Pavelski said. "Sarah, Nate and I have loved being part of this team and Dallas/Fort Worth community for the past four years. We have an incredible group of players in this locker room, and I am excited to continue to work with my teammates toward our goal of winning the Stanley Cup."
The Plover (Wisconsin) native is currently in his fourth year with the Dallas Stars. Despite his age, he continues to produce and is nearly a point-per-game player this season.
In 38 games, Pavelski has 37 points (12 goals, 25 assists), four penalty minutes and is a plus-23.
