Matthew Barnaby has been a divisive figure ever since he arrived in the NHL in 1992. His big personality - both on and off the ice - have earned Barnaby a reputation over the years, long after his retirement in 2007.

The retiree spends his days as a 'Betting expert' and podcaster, regularly tweeting whatever it is he has to say that day. On Friday, Barnaby shared with his followers that he was robbed, as his Jeep was stolen from his residence - allegedly.

"My JEEP just got stolen from my driveway. I really hope the people that stole it get hurt bad driving it to Montreal to send over seas."

One fan replied, trolling Barnaby, saying that fellow retiree - and known adversary of Barnaby's - Sean Avery was seen driving a Jeep later that day:

The Ottawa-native alluded to a larger conspiracy in which criminals steal cars and ship them overseas, so that the vehicles fall out of the jurisdiction of local law enforcement. Such has been the modus operandi for some criminal organizations for years.

It appears that Matthew Barnaby is simply their latest victim.
