Early on New Year's Eve, Team Switzerland took on Slovakia in World Junior Championship action. This tightly contested matchup gave fans in attendance quite the experience, as it had to be settled in a shootout.

The scoring started when Adam Sykora (NYR) buried one past Swiss goalie Kevin Pasche:

The slick-mitted Liekit Reichle tied it up for Switzerland early in the second period:

Slovak forward Servac Petrovsky would cap off the second period with two goals in 49 seconds, giving his side a comfy 2-goal lead heading into the third:

The Swiss would need less than 3 minutes to bring the game within one goal. They would need less than ten to tie the game off of Lorenzo Canonica's powerplay goal, set up beautifully by teammates Attilio Biasca and Louis Robin.

Overtime saw plenty of action, but nothing was more exciting than Slovakia's goaltender - Adam Gajan - and a huge breakaway save to keep things knotted. In the shootout, it was Rodwin Dionicio who won the game for Team Switzerland with a highlight reel goal and celly:

Dionicio absolutely folded Gajan, and hitting him with the Griddy afterwards was straight up disrespectful.

Final Score: SUI - 4 :: SVK - 3 (SO)
