Blackhawks' Stalock Makes Brilliant Save-of-the-Year Candidate on Johnny Gaudreau

Not much has gone right for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2022-23. Having won just 8 games all season, Chicago was never going to be a contender or anything, but their season can only be described as a catastrophe. Whether by design or not.

However, that doesn't mean there won't be singular moments of inspiration. Enter goaltender Alex Stalock, who made this beautiful save on Saturday:

Johnny Hockey had a sure-goal if not for the desperate effort from Stalock. The Blackhawks will surely be in contention for the first-overall pick and Connor Bedard this summer, and this save hardly changes that.

The Blackhawks fell to the Blue Jackets 4-1 on New Year's Eve; their 19th loss in their last 21 games. So, while Stalock's save was worthy of news, the rest of the product is not.
