On Friday night, Syracuse Crunch forward Gabriel Fortier was kicked from their game against the Laval Rocket after a hard hit from behind.

Rocket forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard was securing a rimmed puck, but before he could gain control he was plastered from behind by Fortier.

Harvey-Pinard did miss some game time but was ultimately able to return, avoiding serious injury.

Fortier received a 5-minute major for boarding plus a game misconduct; the Rocket scored twice on their extended third period powerplay en route to a 5-1 victory over Syracuse.
