With yesterday's announcement that the NHL will return for playoffs sometime in July, the Toronto Maple Leafs let it be known today that top prospect Nick Robertson will be included on their expanded playoff roster.

The Leafs are extremely high on Robertson, and for good reason. The 18-year-old put up one of the best seasons of junior hockey in a long time, scoring 55 goals and 86 points in just 46 games. General manager Kyle Dubas spoke of Robertson earlier today, and gave him very high praise.

“Nick is as committed as any player I've seen at that age.” Dubas said. Dubas also mentioned how impressed he was with Robertson's training camp this past fall, and how he continued to improve all season long.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Robertson is guaranteed to appear in any games. Playing in just one playoff game will burn a year off of his entry-level contract, and considering how close the Leafs already are to the salary cap, they will have to be careful. However, there is no doubt that Robertson, who the Leafs selected in the second-round (53rd overall) at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, is extremely talented and would likely be able to help them this postseason.
