There has been a lot of uncertainty regarding a lot of things ever since the coronavirus put the hockey season on hold. Nevertheless, there have been glimpses of a light at the end of the tunnel in the last weeks, especially regarding the status of the NHL season.

One of the questions yet to be answered has been the status of the NHL draft lottery, which precedes the NHL draft. The lottery was first set to take place on April 9th, but was postponed for several reasons, one of which was the fact that no-one knew what the playoff format was going to look like. This also affected the lottery, since it's normally only the 15 teams who don't make the playoffs who are in contention for the first overall pick.

Now however, a date appears to be set. TVASports' Renaud Lavoie writes on Twitter that the 26th of June is the date that we should have the lottery, but that there has been no word on the actual draft as of yet. With the rumours regarding the season previously turning out to often carry value, expect more news regarding the lottery date and format in the coming days.
