Pittsburgh Penguins forward Dominik Simon is expected to be out 6-7 months due to shoulder surgery. The 25-year-old had the surgery on April 29th to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Simon last played on February 29th in a 5-0 loss against the San Jose Sharks, which was the game the injury occurred. In 64 games this year he posted seven goals and 15 assists. He has played 173 total games in his career, posting 19 goals and 64 points, all of which have come in a Penguins uniform.

Although this is tough news for the Czech forward, it is probably the best time for a player to recover from an injury. The NHL season has been suspended since March 12th due to COVID-19, and at this point it is anyone's guess as to whether or not the season resumes.
