Tampa Bay sign 2018 draft pick to entry-level contract

Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois announced Thursday afternoon that the team has signed defenceman Dmitry Semykin to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Semykin, 20, played in 44 games for St. Petersburg of the MHL in Russia this season. In 44 games he scored nine goals and added 15 assists, while also recording a plus/minus of +25 and 41 penalty minutes. He appeared in two playoff games as well, posting two points. He has played a combined 82 games over his MHL career, putting up 14 goals and 40 points.

The 6-foot-3, 201-pound defenceman has been part of the Lightning organization since he was selected in the third-round (90th) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
