Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon announced Tuesday morning that the team has agreed to terms with forward Grigori Denisenko on a three-year, entry-level contract.

“Grigori is an exciting, dynamic, and highly skilled young forward who has been a top player on the international stage and served as captain of Team Russia at the World Juniors,” Tallon said. “We are thrilled for his bright future with the Panthers for years to come.”

Denisenko, 19, just finished up his second season in the KHL with Yaroslavl Lokomotiv. In 38 games this year, he put up six goals and 12 points, which doubled last year's point total in which he was only able to put up four goals and two assists in 25 games. Another interesting note was his drop in penalty minutes (PIMS). During the 2018-19 season, he had 58 PIMS, but lowered the number all the way down to eight this season.

The young Russian forward was taken in the first round (15th) at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Panthers. He has since played in two IIHF World Junior Championships, posting a total of 18 points in just 14 games.
