Montreal Canadiens sign goaltender Vasili Demchenko

As announced Tuesday morning by general manager Marc Bergevin, the Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms on a one-year, entry level contract with former KHL'er and free agent goaltender, Vasili Demchenko, through the 2020-2021 season.

The contract will earn Demchenko $700,000 in the NHL and $70,000 at the AHL level.

Demchenko will also receive a signing bonus of $92,500.

Since his KHL debut in 2011, the 26-year-old net minder has posted a 2.37 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage, with 14 shutouts through 212 games played. He would end his time in the KHL with a 81-86-25 record.

The contract will earn Demchenko at $700,000 in the NHL and $70,000 at the AHL level. Demchenko will also receive a signing bonus of $92,500.
