Andrei Markov, 41, was a sixth round pick of the Habs back in 1998. he broke into the lineup in 2000 and stayed there until 2017. Despite attempts to return to Montreal, the interest from management was not there and Markov spent the last three years in the KHL. For his NHL career, Markov played 990 games in a Habs uniform, scoring 119 goals and adding 453 assists. More than half of his points came on the power play, where he was considered one of the best in the NHL. A two-time NHL All-Star, Markov spent the last few NHL season as an alternate captain for the Canadiens. He also became a naturalized citizen in 2010.
Among his career highlights are silver and bronze medal at World Junior Championships, a gold and two bronze medals at World Championships and winning the Gagarin Cup Ak Bars Kazan in 2018.
