Major League Baseball, its Players Association, and Sony Interactive Entertainment are joining together to launch a competitive MLB The Show 20 league that will feature players from all 30 teams, according to Juan Toribio of MLB.com.

It starts Friday, April 10, with the regular season running through until April 28. A postseason will follow on April 30 with the top eight teams qualifying. The first playoff rounds will be settled with a best-of-three series, while the World Series will be decided with a best three-of-five series to close out the tournament on May 2.

The games will be three innings in length, with three-to-five games being played on any given day.

The "season opener" would be between Tampa Bay Rays ace Blake Snell and Cincinnati Reds reliever Amir Garrett. It is a rematch of the finals from a recent online tournament, which Garrett won. The game is being live-streamed at 9 p.m. ET on Snell's Twitch channel, and talks have reportedly begun with the league's broadcast partners to potentially televise the matchups.

Each player participating would receive a $5,000 donation to a Boys and Girls Club affiliate in their team's community, with the winner of the tournament winning an additional $25,000.
