Former first round pick to join the Florida Panthers in May

Grigori Denisenko, 19, Florida's first round draft pick in 2018 (15th overall) has announced that he will not sign an extension with his KHL club and will sign with the Panthers in May.

According to Sport Express, Denisenko's agent Sergei Isakov stated that Denisenko's contract officially ends on April 30, but Denisenko has already decided to continue his career in the Panthers organization. The 5'11", 181 lb. forward had 12 points in 38 games for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl this year. At the WJC 2020, Denisenko captained Team Russia to the silver medal, leading the team with nine points in seven games. At the previous WJC, he won a bronze, while leading the tournament in scoring with nine points.
