Vegas Golden Knights' Robin Lehner doesn't believe season can continue

With the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic reaching seemingly all corners of the Earth, the professional sports world, much like the rest of the world, has come to a halt.

Since the moment the National Hockey League paused the 2019-20 season amidst the pandemic, people across the hockey world have speculated on its return, if and when.

The athletes and officials are no different, with each person holding their own opinion on when and how the 2019-20 season should continue.

In a recent interview with Sweden's Expressen, Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner was asked his opinion on a return to the season;

"No, I don't think it's possible to shut down and then run again when you have hundreds of thousands of cases of the corona virus. Safety goes first.

You can't turn a hundred and eighty degrees and start playing again. I see a zero percent chance that you can save this season. Now I hope that next season can start as usual in October."

Following the release of the article, many people took to Twitter regarding the 28-year-old netminder's comment, to which, as he's known to do, Lehner responded;

While many different possibilities have been discussed, including a return straight to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as well as the possibility of a ‘round-robin' style tournament to award the coveted Stanley Cup, nothing has been decided, as the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic continues to spread and arena doors remain closed until further notice.
