Giroux gaining interest from surprise Canadian team

Claude Giroux was one step closer to a Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers, but they could not get the job done versus the Tampa Bay Lightning. Giroux is looking to test free agency in order to find a new contender that he can win a Stanley Cup with.

One team that has emerged as a possible landing spot is the Edmonton Oilers. Giroux would give them another solid top-nine forward that can slot in on the wing or down the middle.

The Oilers made it to the Western Conference Final, but ended up losing to the eventual Stanley Cup Champions, the Colorado Avalanche, in 4 games. Maybe Giroux could give the team some much needed forward depth help to push them over that next step.
