I'm not too sure about the timing of this one, but Russia's Hockey Federation, known as the FHR, has plans for a 3 on 3 hockey tournament. According to Sport24.ru, the Federation is offering prize money of $5 million rubles, the equivalent of $80,000 USD.

The FHR wants three periods of seven minutes each. It also said its planning to hold the tournament from June 12th to the 14th with 16 teams involved. For rosters, the plan is to apparently draw players from the NHL, KHL and anywhere else. It says a list of participants will be announced later.

3ICE has already announced a 3-on-3 tournament for North America this year. It will take place Saturday, June 18th in Las Vegas. Several former NHLers will participate as coaches and players (you can read more about that Sport24.ru).
